Good question I always push it closed as to get it to shut by droping it the bonnet has to be about 3 feet open .

You're meant to drop it shut, as apparently if you push it shut like a normal bonnet, the soft aluminium can dent. A foot or 2 should do it, and will do no harm.

I was always told that you should drop a bonnet to close it. Most car bonnets can be dented if you push them shut. Mine closes from about 15inches.

I've always pushed mine shut and it's done no harm, (just make sure you're close to the edge).
You droppers just have no mechanical sympathy whatsover.

Mine was the same. Experiment and drop from the right height...

Slam it shut, wince at the clunk noise, open it again, put untensioned drivers seatbelt back into the car and shut again.

I always dropped from about a foot before (cruel to be kind etc) but with the bit of CF under the bonnet I daren't do that anymore, so push close to the edge and catch like the Bearded one
