JD; Where is the garage you are refering to; ie, postcode or address, phone number? I'm up in 'The Mighty Yorkshire' near Halifax.
I was strongly advised by Chris Franklin to have the car Clear WaxOyled when he did my Geo so its sommet I want to do before the weather really kicks in.

Good work! Did you rub it down at all or just go over any corrosion that is currently there?

nomadicS2k = you dont really need to sand down any corrosion (unless it really bad of corse) as the underseal has a rust killer built in it. There was only very few signs of surface rust here and there with the rear bumper beam being worse, but these simpley bolt off anyway If you were that bothered about replacing it.
Hope this helps

Shortly after I bought the car I did the rear wheel arches with some trade spray underseal bought from a motor factors.
It is rubberised and I put it on to cut down on noise and protect.
I power washed area first, been on about two years now.
The rest, suspension and entire under body I covered with clear wax oil.
Get the car up on axle stands, 5l can and a wax oil sprayer.
Stops any existing corrosion, tried and tested on many cars!
I top it up yearly with an aerosol as it can get worn off the exposed bits like the suspension.
Don't forget to spray into box sections, bottom of door panel etc.
Box section often have grommets you can remove and you can then use an accessory that comes with the sprayer to squirt some in.
Wax oil does attract the dirt but that is only because it remains slightly "wet".
It is this that stops the oxygen getting to the corrosion.
If you want to remove it in the future a steam cleaner will take it all off.
