Default just got home from my first big US meet...the Freshwater Tour

hey guys...I got home yesterday from the Freshwater Tour. 3/4 days of driving around the Lakes in Michigan...all kinds of fun stuff included...riding in the sand dunes (not in the S of course) and autocrossing.

Here is a link to some of the pics that I managed to get....there's lots more on the site if anyone is interested in seeing more.

Enjoy!!

Thanks Kelk...did my best with the pics!!! Tara didnt come with me on this trip so I was driver/cameraman at the same time!

Ian, the convoy seems to work very well. It wasnt a balls out drive...prob 50mph. It was basically a straight road (I mean not turn offs...but plenty of twisties) between two towns. Negotiating the towns was a little harder.....

....someone would pull into the middle of the intersection to stop traffic from all the other directions....illegal im sure but most other road users were more than keen to oblige. they would sit in awe.

the road itself was generally a single lane (one lane each way) so that was easy to keep in line....occasionally going to dual carriageway where the line would split and we'd drive in 2x lane formation.

On the single lane, the leader would pull up level to other drivers (slower) in front and kindly as them to pull over and let us through....much safer than 50 cars trying crazy overtaking manoeuvers....again..unorthadox but all were keen to help...they would pull to the side of the road or turn off completely.

As you can see from the final shot where we did the obligatory colour spectrum at the beach....we again drove off in a line for another hours drive to the auto-x circuit. The convoy broke when we hit the interstate but for the initial 30 mins of that drive we were all driving in the colour formation too.....

so all blues...followed by all sebrings/blacks/silverstones/reds/white

It was a lot of fun!!
