I think it's no more than a couple of minutes before it's better to switch off. Having said that, a 30+AH battery should last a lot more than 10 mins before dying - think there's something wrong there that may need checking.

My battery went kaput on me, with no warning (wouldn't even idle without stopping) and I ended up getting a push from some police, because I was causing a long tailback Bit embarrassing, but after a year or two of therapy I'm over it now

The tiny battery is probably on its way out.

I assume it's the car's first and it would therefore be over four years old.

In the bad old days, you'd be lucky to get three years out of a battery.

In the bad old days, you'd be lucky to get over four years out of the car!

Do you remember the SD1? (A good one would last 12 months before the panels rusted through ).
