Or just pick up an older low mileage S2000, and have a lovely holiday somewhere with the money saved.

What a horrid saga

I don't know if it was the same technician however Bristol Honda didn't like the sound of the noise either, apparently both dealers were in touch with each other - the net result is the car is back with Bristol Honda to get sorted out. I'm only repeating what Trish told me which was what she overheard whilst in the garage.

It's not just the fault rectification, there's no doubt that Bristol Honda will do that. You can't fault their customer service but it has to be remembered that it's not exactly a 5 minute drive to them and back and each trip is miles on the car, petrol out of the tank and time out of Bokkies day doing it - that is all adding up.

Her frustration is with the car and HondaUK, not with Bristol Honda and unfortunately that frustration is not doing her love affair with the car any good at all.

Appreciate all of that.

Hence my comment about how much patience she has.

Put it out of your mind and enjoy the holiday, a sherry or two will help, I'm sure an answer will await you on your return. What ever the problem is it will seem better then.

I know what Bokkie is running around in ....

She's as happy as an Sless person can be

The verdict on Jenson is a dry bearing on the clutch plate.

OK,as Bokkie is on her hols, i will post.

The issue took about 5 mins to diagnose and cure, I will never condemn another dealer or specialist but I am currently a little p155ed off with the diagnosis given to Trish.

I truely feel that in order to tell an owner that "the car should not be driven" they should at least put it on a ramp, or even in the workshop.

As I am far from a techie, I will post up the fault/ problem in morning once I have spoken to Kevin who got up and was waiting for Bokkie 100 miles from his home at 7.10am today.

UF. I feel we have gone out of our way once again to support our customer.

Lower. Thank you for your support.

NO HYSTERIA PLEASE, this was totally unrelated with any previous issues, and was in no way down to workmanship.

What I want to know is who the funk fitted the new drivers seat cushion cover, it's full of creases/baggy and wearing already!!!'

Surely that's ammo for UF to go and give a different dealer some cr4p!!!!!!!!!!! I really would have thought you would have dropped the roof and looked at the headrest area being the expert that you are. Definition "Ex is a has been, spurt is just a drip under pressure"

Interesting. I believe that my S will be in the same workshop from Saturday to have its latest accoustic conundrum looked at (listened to?). Having had a new engine only 800miles ago (after the first one had done only 6k) it was kinda sickening to hear a very similar sounding rattle at the same revs (2.5k - 3k) and in similar conditions, so I took my paranoia back to the guys at Bristol where, after discussing with HUK, they are to check it out again next week. Had Jenson been there it would have been good to compare noises - but its pretty clear that mine is not clutch related.

I have had the car less than three months in which time it has has been on holiday at the dealership four times culminating in the new engine. Hopefully next week will see the resolution of the latest rattle too. In any case, i have to say that checking this forum for updates on engine failures - particularly of newer models - has become a macabre, confidence shaking routine.

I adore the car (its my second after a four year break) and every time I get into it I can justify persevering a bit longer. Credit again to Bristol Honda - a lesser franchise would have seen me off by now. So I take the positive view of the situation like some others on the forum. The later engine may not be as well made as earlier ones (including my previous) but there are, surely, many later cars out there purring away in the hands of happy owners, blissfullly unaware of this forum, and holding up the car's reputation? Eh? Surely?

I think you've done a damned sight more than HondaUK have ever done both in front and behind the scenes. As I said, I can't fault the customer service, although you can't argue that the distance is a cost that both of you have suffered with. Would have been nice to see HondaUK do something to redress this, that I suspect will be a long time coming if it ever does.

The drivers seat cover has not worn well at all has it, it has only been in there a few weeks at the most, ant it looks like it is a year old again. The leather on the newer cars doesn't look like it's of the same quality as the earlier models, it's too soft.

All credit to yourselves but in fairness to Bokkie, she got up at 5am to ensure she was able to make it to the location of the exchange.
