Thumbs down

Here, this is my 06 car at about 18m old.
The photo is just a couple of the geo bolts I removed from the car.
Garaged, mollycoddled, never seen salt or hardly any rain.

Can't see any lube?
No shet Sherlock.

Makes you wonder doesn't it - just how poor the 360 feedback is from huge owners clubs and franchises.
Or just how little Honda GAF about anything that costs them money.

Reminiscent of the Clio bonnet catch saga on Watchdog, and I'll agree all the manufactures seem the same in ineptitude.
S.

Elijah - Can you post up your engine no.
It will be interesting to see how close you are to Trish's or mine.
Old Engine number:
F20C21080681
New Engine number:
F20C20108020

Seems odd I appear to have an older replacement than my original??

My problem was back in Feb 09, dealt with by Fish Brothers Honda in Swindon.
I pushed it with Honda Uk, and Jon Couling was involved I think, I was insisting on complete engine - failed to get that, but gained reassurance they'd take the engine problem into account if I experience future issues.

I've had 2 CTRs and this is my second S2000 - all run in carefully, no vtec for 300 miles but full rev range up to 6k and all gears where speed allows, but with nothing hard - I.e. work the engine but not under big load. Same principle for next 300 miles, but including vtec. Then driven it fairly hard without hitting rev limiter.
None of them have ever used a drop of oil, checked every week.

Engines or suspension you mean?

Not many other Hondas have this level of adjustment.
Don't forget apart from NSX they are not coilover suspension, double wishbones with full adjustment.

Gas, I see from you pictures that your 'new' car is an 09 so I guess it must have been registered to someone else before you got it?

I hope you received some compensation for what is effectively a second hand replacement.

I think it is a fair trade.

The dealer registered it. All S2000's had to be registered by end June.
IIRC only 1 or 2 didn't - but got a 59 plate.

This car had 5 miles on the clock when I picked it up.

And remember Bristol Honda have been looking after me the last 9 weeks by letting me drive some very nice cars. They even dropped the cars off to my doorstep etc.
Not the piece of Vauxhall tat that HUK were enforcing on me.

Yes I would have loved to be the first owner - but that is not possible.
On the plus side, I have 8000 miles of driving fun to look forward to.

I could be arsie and ask HUK for compensation, lack of social outings etc etc.

But net net - I am happy with the result.
Fingers crossed that this engine is sorted.
If not in 6 months time Jon Couling and I will have that deja vu moment.

Nope. Don't recognise it at all.

BTW - The middle car in the list is not for sale. It is on my driveway.
