Been there already MB.
Two weeks ago HUK decided that the car would be bought back.
Only a price was to be agreed between us.

After the weekend they decided they didn't want to go that route - but look into other avenues first - expedite an engine, find a better car etc etc

I said I would remain open and listen to their proposals.
What has been proposed is short of the mark.

Fully agree the point re: my money
Dealer is aware of this too.

The dealer can always drive your old car to yours to get the roof - be a nice trip out for someone as long as they don't break down eh .....

I'd be inclined to reject the car, get a refund and go find yourself a nice 07 car - pocket the depreciation and walk away happier. This car will just never feel the same again due to all the hassle you've had with it.

Well.... they can't drive my old car.
My old car doesn't have an engine in it. Just a big empty hole.
I'll try to upload a photo tonight.

If I buy a privately owned 07 - it will be about a grand more than I traded in my 07 for.

So I end up with the same MY car. But I don't know the history and it cost me a grand more than when I started.

My love for the Honda brand is being tested, that's for sure.

Indeed, I hope it'll all end up well for you mate, you shouldn't have to go through all this after just buying a new car

thats a sorry sight for anyone....

I would be taking a second car (of similar mileage etc) and a 'sweetner' for being second owner etc (extended warranty / cash sum) and walk away.

That or reject the car. It does seem however that in the nicest possible way you have been shafted by HUK, a very poor show from a trusted brand. Whilst I wouldn't normally encourage this, have you considered the likes of 'watchdog' etc to apply some external pressure??? Perhaps HUK might reconsider options if it were made a little more apparent to their new market as they know they can't sell us lot any new S2K's as they no longer make it! its a very 'I'm alright Jack' responce in my opinion.

I understand your loyalty to the dealer and that is highly commendable, but they are not at fault here and are doing all they can to resolve on your behalf. That said, its your cash, your car and so far, very much your problem. I would be demanding list price (less px value) in cash, back in my pocket. period.

Its a scary thought I know, but does anyone else think that these two cars are rebeling at being given gay girly names?
