Plankton.

The primordial soup appears to be clogging up the dealerships these days.
Classic case in point today trying to order an exhaust gasket for the Reno.
Ten minutes to locate it, even with the reg number.
Turns out they dont know the difference between Megane and Laguna.

But I dont' have high expectations of Reno dealers anymore

Update.
I received an email from Honda UK on Friday night.

Summary is...

1/ I can continue to wait until the car is fixed.
Current ETA to get my car is circa 27th Nov.
Honda UK will provide me a courtesy S.

If you recall.. Honda UK "guaranteed" dates for me to be back in my car have already come and gone. The 27th Nov could easily be pushed further out.

2/ Honda UK have found a replacement car.
It is of similar mileage and condition ( I need to visually inspect it )
I will be the second owner, not the first.

And should the engine fail... I will be back to square one.

However - I still have the legal right to reject the car.
After the 12th Nov I will lose that right.

Problem is - I can't see anything that I think would happily replace the S.
Edit.... happily replace a reliable working S

So.. a bottle of wine tonight and something to think about in the bath.

Gas - if it were me I'd be rejecting it, they are obviously struggling to meet any promised commitment.

If you're getting a courtesy S then I would wait. You still get to drive an S and eventually you will get YOUR car back....which you should feel reasonably confident will be ok.

Good to know Ian

I'm convinced HUK are trying to resolve this at lowest possible cost.
But to be honest - I think I have been more than patient.

I was going to keep this quiet.. but here is the chronology from the last week and a bit.

16th October
=========
HUK said they would buy the car back.

19th October
=========
HUK said they didn't want to buy the car back.
As the car had been moved from Crown to Cribbs...they want time to expedite an engine.
If they couldn't they would then look at buying back the car.

20th October
=========
HUK say they cannot expedite an engine.
They cannot find another GT100.
But ask me to reconsider keeping my car while having the use of HUK press car (GT100).

21st October
========
HUK propose that they swap their press GT100 with my car.
They need to look into issues of their private plate etc

22nd October
=========
HUK rule out possibility of the press GT100 as a swap.
But advise that they have found a replacement car for me.
I advise that I am listening - but want to learn more about the car and some guarantees that I would not end up in the same boat

23rd October
========
Email that the replacement car is of the same mileage as mine.
And that I can make an appointment to view the car next weekend.
HUK still try to persuade me to wait for my car and use the HUK press car.

To me - this issue is trying to be resolved using the lowest possible cost to HUK.

I've tried to be receptive to various solutions, but at the end of the day.
I'm not finding a satisfactory solution.

I will give them a crack at No 33.
If not - the car will be rejected.

It looks like they are trying to keep their costs down
For that reason alone I'd want to cost them as much as possible!

Reject it - they still have to pay for the engine as well

It looks to me like they're still trying their very best to lose customers ........ present and future.
