Default JDM Seat pans & rails

As per title really...
I want to lower my seat, but don't fancy butchering mine. I found some JDM seat pans and rails for sale locally, but I have a uk car.
Would it be a straight swap?
Does the Model Year make a difference?

Cheers

Am I missing something here? Why would jdm rails be lower than ukdm?

I think he wants to modify a cheap set of jdm rails rather than his own

Yes, there a DIY lowering mod on the US part of the forum, but it involves a lot of cutting and hammering, I don't really have the courage to do this on my own factory seat!
Having said all of that, I have just tried Graham's (G.E) lowered seat rail + bucket seat, this morning at the South Coast meet, and it was pretty much the perfect driving position... I think this might be the way to go.... Although I am keen to keep the factory look... Need to think about this...
