Default JDM Rear End

Whilst swapping out my JDM bumper for a UK one, I noticed that there wasn't a crash bar behind the bumper cover.

Am I missing one, or do the JDMs not have them? It really doesn't look like one has ever been fitted, the section with the tow hook insert is just too neat to make me wonder if it's had a rear ender and it was merely chopped out.

Any advice most welcome.

Thank fook for that...cheers Ron. I to your greater knowledge on the subject.

I wonder why they don't have them? Is it something to do with the different plate, or that Japs don't tailgate like the morons on our roads?

I didn't think there were any safety rules other than the obvious seat belts must be fitted and you aren't allowed machine guns/knifes/tri-cobalt phaser cannons etc etc

Ironically perhaps, the fact that my car didn't have a rear beam, meant that the shunt I recieved was minor and didn't bend the chassis.
