the 'proper' way if you retain the length of material Modifry supply.

If you trim the length and retain the amount of elasticity then you get to rivet it in and still get the 'better' pull down.
Gotcha
Don't worry I bought a length of elastic from a market for £1 and they put new rivets in.

Well why didn't you go to Monsoon and pay £3 hmmm ?

Yes, if you don't fit the Modifry elastics in the right way (without cutting them down first) they'll be too long.

Wasn't in response to that, I was on about the whole JS vs Monsoon.

On that, we agree.

FWIW, I have a Monsoon roof, bought in the group buy of 2010. No-one on here had mentioned Jack Smith back then AFAIK.

Installation took the best part of a day, seats were removed as pat of the job.

The first roof didn't last long, with significant wear along the seams joining the centre part to the sides. This was replaced at no charge by Monsoon, and the second one is faring much better.

Given what a ballache it is to get to Monsoon, I'll probably go to Carhoodwarehouse next time, as they are much more convenient.

I still have my HT fitted at the moment, but when it comes off I will need to get my roof done and I have considered a trip to JS. However, I live in Ipswich, so I have reservations in case anything wasn't right and it needed to go back to be sorted.

The closest place for me is All Hoods Ltd in Romford.

If you look on that page you will see that Tony has quoted me £595;

All Hoods Ltd Brian @AllHoodsLtd
@cdp_71 to supply and fit a black mohair hood on your Honda S2000 will cost you £595 and will take about 5 hours to do.

Has anyone used All Hoods?

Carhood are 20 mins or so from me, JS is 3hrs. If you put a value on convenience and disregard quality, then the £300 difference is worth paying IMO. That's what it boils down to. For me.

me and a mate have both been down to jacks from Ipswich, yes its an overnighter but a really nice drive if you try and do a weekender, but if you add a night in hotel plus fuel and the hassle factor I think Romford sounds good.

Stay in. Lock doors. Talk to no one.
