Craig, was a pleasure meeting you and not a problem taking photo’s in front of the house. Many a car has been shown off there including Ferrari’s
The car came up well, there was a great deal of overspray and contaminants stuck to the paintwork which needed an aggressive claybar to remove. Then a good hot shampoo and final steam rinse showed up the paint for what it really was. I didn’t need to go mad with removing scratches; a level 1 machine glaze was enough to remove the swirls and holograms. Then some paint food finished off with a coat of my favourite (and in vogue) wax. Hyper dressing of the wheel arches, wheels and finish those grubby tips off with some Meguiars NXT Metal polysh. Overall around six hours of labour, just wish we could get a bit more sunshine
Sideways, you have been saying this for ages, get your bruised arse into gear and ‘just do it!’
Tommy It was a minor paint correction on this car, most S2000 are pretty easy to get back to looking good as the paint is so malleable. As yours is a Silverstone I would budget around £240 to get the paint back into and above showroom standard.
Gaspode You are right and unfortunately I will no longer be able to keep my prices as low as they are, my accountant has given me a good ticking off and prices will be going up end of April. But as many of my customers have said it will still be excellent value for money.
P1, It was an honour to do your car, you have an even greater reputation for OCD than Gaspode. I knew how high your level of expectations were and knew it would be an opportunity to show off to the community what I could achieve, even with a spankly new car Two days of labour on a brand new S2000 brought the paintwork out to what I wish Honda would do in the first bleeding place.
Guys, get yourself a bargain whilst you can;
