Never had the stalling issue - that sounds like a driving style issue to me. The gears yes. By the way, I got a chance to drive an FD2 CTR straight out of Japan last weekend, and THAT gearbox is unbelievably smooth.

No problems here
Never had trouble with either of my S2000's boxes.
No different getting used to it compared to any other "new to me" car I've driven.

I'm on my second, I'd agree that the box is notchier on this one (although only done < 6K so far) but the stalling business is non existent now.
BTW, why've you got a picture of my mother on your avatar?

No problems here either with the gearbox...occasionally a little notchy, but still the best I've used. No trouble with pulling away, either.
You want trouble pulling away...you want to drive that Caterham I had on Saturday...not TOO difficult (VHPD K-series are worse, by all accounts), but did need a definite lump of throttle to pull away cleanly without stalling/bogging-down/kangarooing.
The engine DOES dip very low when coming off-throttle, but that's natural for a light-flywheel engine, as stated above.

The stalling thing is only when in heavy traffic - like you have just stopped with clutch in, then dip throttle a bit to let clutch out and the engine kinda catches its breath for a split second (to the point of almost cutting out) as you try to set off. Like I said, Chris Franklin of CG said they all did this to a lesser or greater extent when we were driving my car after the geo. I admit my beater is an auto, but I ain't THAT f***-witted when it comes to driving manual.
As for your mother, what can I say?? We go back a looooong way. Dude, do YOU by any chance have a hairy back too?? TBC

Can't say I have either of these problems. Maybe it's the way I drive that I don't notice them.
You do have to pick up the throttle before engaging the clutch but that's a driver function. I improved mine by spending some time getting the throttle cable correctly adjusted as it tells you in the excellent FAQ section.

My gearbox is pretty stiff getting into 1st and reverse when cold. It gets a lot better when warm, but still occasionally won't go into 1st from neutral and I have to go into 2nd then 1st to pull away.
No problems with any of the important gears.
And yes I do have the thing where the revs drop, seemingly too low. It's only done it since I had the injectors replaced, but maybe it was clever enough to idle higher to compensate for the knackered injectors, and now it's running too well.
