What's the easiest way to connect an iPod to the standard head unit on a MY05 S2000, if it's possible at all?

ANy help gratefully accepted.

Cheers,..........

On fleebay search for ipod and s2000. you should find a chap that sells an ipod interface called and Xcar Link.

Costs very as he sells them as an auction rather than buy it now, he usualy 1 on the go all the time and they go in the region of 30-50 quid.

Fitting is fairly simple depending on where you want to locate all the bits. it plugs into the cd changer port

I have my pod in the glovebox with the interface box stored under the arm rest.

It works, sounds OK although can do some random things like locking up the ipod when it's unplugged. nothing a reboot can't solve though.

The easiest way is probably one of those FM transmitters put since they are poo I would discount that option. So the X-car link is definitly the next best, since it will also charge your ipod and allow you to skip tracks using the dash controls.

Hope complicated you route the wiring is up to you. Personelly I have the small interface box behind the stereo (there's loads of room) and have just routed the wire along the side of the centre tunnel. I then just connect the ipod and place it to the left front of the gear stick. Its in one of those rubber holders so doesn't slip anywhere.

I have xcar link aswell. Works fine once you get used to the playlist structure. Got it from the auction chap on re-bay. Had a few problems with the lead coming loose of the interface box & causing the box to then fail. He replaced the units without any question or delay. Keep the Ipod in the net in the passenger footwell, leave most of the lead & interface box behind the stereo. Take the small padded piece of trim off above the net for additional access.
