As for the boat crossing, see forecast below, but shouldn't be too bad by the time you get underway. The Mannannan is quite a big dinghy and handles seas reasonably - unfortunately, the bar area is the worst part of the boat as you get fumes and mucho vibrations from the engines. I find the front quiet lounge is the best part of the ship. As you get closer to the Island, you are on the leeward side when westerlies are blowing, so get some relief further into a rough crossing

I now realise those sea areas are something akin to cockney rhyming slang, so you would go to the bathroom for a German Bight (or even a Dogger Bank!) and Rockall speaks for itself!!
