Introducing myself
#12
Thanks for the kind welcome, and thanks for the invite to the Stanstead meet and the 1st Lotus day. I've done a couple of North Weald days with Andy Walsh and thoroughly enjoyed them.
The day in the Alps showed me pretty much every aspect of the dynamics of the car - it suprised the hell out of everybody on the trip who thought that it was going to be a bit of an underdog, quite frankly, including me. So the next step for me is to drive the thing for as long as possible (do dealers do extended test drives, ie. overnight or a weekend?). I'll give Norton Way a call, they're a bit closer than the Bedford dealers which the Salesman in Cambridge suggested.
RichUK, what do you mean by "Looking at your choice of companion car, a new 04 might be a little too soft for you"? The Elise is my only car, and so will the S2k. Or am I completely missing the point?
Neil: thanks for the FAQ link, I'll read that now.
AlexC: The Tamora was fabulous, didn't miss a beat in the 1700+ miles. Was brilliant through the twisties, and very quick on the straights. To be honest, I didn't think it would handle the bendy roads as well as it did. The owner was chuffed to bits!
Am I right in thinking that a 2002+ model year is the one to go for?
I won't waste any more of your bandwidth on this thread but if you'd like to see more photos, take a look at www.minimeme.co.uk/photos/eurohoon

The 02 has the glass rear window, I would go for that one.

It was an 04 he was in convoy with so it can't be that bad..
It probably wasn't even run in Bonce...wait until its got 20,000 miles on & two services under its belt.....
A reminder though....
It will only do about 143 with the roof down
