In a bit of a thread hi-jack and just of interest - does the K&N Oil filter reap any benefits over the standard OEM?
one would assume it would, but i've never seen any evidence (other than the information on K&N's site) to state that it does...

There is nothing to be gained by swapping to a non Honda oil filter.
They cost peanuts as it is, and personally I see no point in trying aftermarket stuff in that area.

'JDM Tyte' and all that. No - the Honda one is very good, but I may well buy a few more ones (including the fram one as Fram make the Honda OEM filters) and do what the bloke did

far better to change the oem one more offten than go for something more exotic, if the filter media has a tighter spec then you need more of it to keep the same flow, it also stands more chance to block quicker and open the bypass valve then you have no filter
