Integra type R to Early S2000
Hi
New member here who's looking at buying an early S2000.
I've currently got a low millage UK Integra type which I've owned for around six months but quite fancy getting back into a rear wheel drive car.
Just wondering if anyone has changed from an Integra and if they'd recommend it.
I expect for road driving there fairly similar in terms of pace with the S2000 probably ultimately being slightly faster but the integra being very easy to drive.
Also has anyone driven both on track? I do some sprinting, should I expect the s2000 to be much quicker round a tight circuit such as Brands Hatch indy or Lydden hill with a reasonable driver?
Thanks
Andy

Andy, welcome.
There are quite a number of folk who've moved to S2000s from other Hondas (I was CRX VTEC, CTR).
Here's some threads for you. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=192617

I have both too and an ATR
ITR is more instant fun on a twisty road. S2000 takes more patience and understanding - you have to learn the car before you can push it.
I'd rather be in the Teg in these conditions and the S2000 has been garaged since November

Mine too, but for different reasons.
The EK4 is closely related to the 'Teg and is great fun to throw down a road like you stole it. It's slower & softer & the brakes fry even quicker, but it makes you grin.
You really have to build up & learn the S2000. And put the chassis braces on. It's far more intense.

Cheers for the replies and the links.
I do enjoy driving the integra and have done a few trackdays / sprints in it.
Just starting to find the FWD a bit boring, last trackday at Brands Hatch I was hoping for a drop of rain in the afternoon.
My only slight reservation is if I'm going to end up slower on the sprints (as I did pretty well in the integra and a clio 172 last year) whilst I get used to RWD again.
With regards to driving in poor conditions on the road, I do tend to hold back a fair bit, I had an M3 Evo for 2.5 years and that could be interesting with 300+ bhp, rwd and no traction control.

I've had a DC2, DC5 and S2000...
S2000 is pick of the bunch, as i'm not really a FWD fan.
The DC2 used to frustrate me as a daily drive as it really was hard to get going. Still liked it though.

I do sprint racing quite regularly and went from a Civic Type R to the S2000 (not a Teg I know) with 2 rounds to go towards the end of last year. I was slower in the S2000 than the Civic, but had always driven FWD up to that point so I'm hoping it is just a matter of getting used to RWD.
Having been to a few events where Matt (Kartaphilos) was taking part I can safely say it is possible to be massively quick in the S, although I think it may be down to a combination of the driver and the car setup. Thankfully he wasn't in my class otherwise he would have slaughtered me
