Default Insurance Value

I'm currently trying to sory out a valuation of my S2000 with the insurance company engineers.
They've deemed it a potential write off. They allowed 65% of the vehicle value to repair it and said that was about £7700. I don't accept that TBH - that means they value it at about £11,850.
It's an 05 GT, Berlina Black, 19500 miles on it. It was in mint condition pre-accident.
I'm going to be arguing for about £13,000 to £13,500 for the valuation and don't think that's unreasonable.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Also, does anyone think it would help sending them loads of adverts from Autotrader and the like to prove the value?

yup that will do fine , you need as many as poss - remember piston heads as well , other thing you can do is call honda and ask them to check stock list and print this out for you , that way you have a replacment cost... why should you go to the autotrader ?

I would say you should make 12.5k on a good day.

Hi, I've just been through this saga, stolen rather than pranged. First, haggle like mad, I went from £14000 to £15000 in 2 hops for a 56 plate 2007 model with 20, 450 on the clock.

I sent autotrader links, a good sob story and also proof of mileage. My best advice, don't give in at the first, or even second offer.
