Just one thing.....
What's the position regarding no claims discount, if you are a named driver on a policy which has a claim made against it?
Would LB's Dad still be able to say he has full no claims, if it is in fact his discount which has been applied to the policy resulting in the huge drop in premium?
Just a thought...

The NCD is only relevant to the policyholder. It's a 'no claim discount' not a 'no blame discount', therefore it's the policyholder who always makes the claim and anyone else insured on the policy is irrelevant for NCD purposes.

Lisa, they probably took it into account when setting your premium and loaded same accordingly (or not, as the case may be) - as I say underwriting is a very weird science, a mix of experience, wet finger in the air, and black magic. Your ex, however was stuffed; it was his policy and he made the claim so bye-bye NCD, no doubt leaving a smirking, "sit-on-this" finger-waving Lisa
Now, if only I had something similar with which to get my soon-to-be-ex-wife (who is now after part of my pension fund)
