at the end of the day I can see one of two ways to have a smash of your own making
overcook it in a corner or rear end someone........both can be avoided by being alert

and you still lose your no claims if:
A: someone nicks your car
B: someone vandalises it
C: somone crashes into it when your not there.
None of which are your fault and none of which you can control. Protect your no claims. On Group 20 cars can you really run the risk of not??

I guess not but it's the way I approach things....it's only my opinion after all
I just don't see any point forking out any more than is necessary, I'd rather take my chances but each to their own....

IIRC, If you claim, you don't lose ALL your NCD, normally just the last 2 years. e.g. if you have 5 years no claims and you claim, you go down to 3 years ncd.
If you DO have protected NCD and you claim, they just whack up the underlying premium. The insurance company have you by the balls either way.
Basically you need to offset the amount it costs to protect your premium against how much you save over two years to see if it's worth it.

I guess it depends on how a person uses the car....mine doesn't really get exposed to a great deal of risk....if it were exposed to more risk on a daily basis I might consider protecting it
I've got a NCB on the beater car that I could use on the S if worst came to the worst
