insurance question
My renewal has just gone up because of a claim I decided not to make.
Scratched the bumper last year, asked for a claims form, got the quote and decided to pay myself rather than put through the insurance and up my renewal quotes.
I know they are thieving bastards, but will they really up my quote because I informed them of the incident even though they paid out nothing?

Yup - unfortunately so on the basis that you had 'an accident' and statistically speaking, you are more likely to have another 'accident' within the next 24 months.
I had a similar problem when I got shunted 3 years ago - even though it wasn't my fault, my premium went up the following year for the reason above.
It's outrageous!
