I would keep harrassing all parties - non-stop until they resolve the situation and send the letter. After 20 calls or so you can guarantee they will want to get you off their backs!
Name and shame you insurance co with the crap customer service!
Good luck

Don't forget put everything in writing. Even confirm any telephone conversation you have had.
E-mail is cheap if they have an e-mail address.
Important stuff send by Recorded Delivery.
Good Luck!

Have you considered taking out a short term loan to cover the period where you are waiting for money from the relevant insurers? Cahoot flexible loans will let you borrow and pay back very quickly and the cost of borrowing the money you need to cover the purchase for a month or two should be pretty negliable.

As has been mentioned, find the names of the MD, Chairman etc of your insurance company and send them an e-mail explaining your situation and what you want doing.
It shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of these names. All that you have to do is work out the format of their e-mail addresses...
John.smith@
Johnsmith@
John_Smith@
etc etc.
Or simply phone their call centre and ask for the e-mail of the person that you are speaking to, chances are they use the same address format for all in their company.
I used this approach when I was having problems with Tracker a while back and wheels were set in motion very rapidly.
Just had a look at the insurance spreadsheet and it says you're with the bunch who like to "Quote you happy".
I'd e-mail everyone off this list

After hours Indian call centre and bad creash management sounds like Admiral to me...
They just took a month to fix Mrs Ready S2k's crash (standard rear alloy in to kurb, rebuild passenger rear suspension + new alloy and tyre)!!!
