insurance help for 23 year old
hey everyone, my aunt has just said i could buy her 2003 s2000 of her for half the pice its worth, it is toooooooo good to turn down so i am looking for insurance but the cheapest so far is adrian flux with £2283. im 23 years old got 3 years no claims and nothing what so ever on my license, completely clean. my mate insured a 3.0l bmw z4 when he was 21 for £1600 with 3 years no claims and the z4 is faster than the s2000. so im in need of help and advise please. does anyone know any good companys and has anyone been in my position. i saw a 21 year old got insured with 1 years no claims for £1700 on another old topic.
your help would be much appreciated.
many thanks, dan

Unfortunatly, reading a few of the other insurance threads on here at the moment, thats not a bad quote to be honest.
Its a group 20 car with a reputation for plenty of expensive claims behind it. Try things like adding family as named drivers / limited mileage / garage the car at night etc, but on the face of it, that quote isnt too bad!

you won't get cheaper insurance until about 25, those younger people who get these more moderate prices tend to be bending the truth some what. not illegal but if you have a crash and they suspect something isn't right you can be left with the bill.
some people get a parent to insure the vehicle as the main driver and put themselves on as a named driver.
i have a friend who puts his ex girlfriend on the insurance as it lowers the cost, but they haven't been together for 3 years.
having a fictional garage
only doing under 9k a year.
not declaring mods etc.
whats your location as area can play a huge part in the insurance cost. i lived in CV1 for a while and at the time it was the highest insurance bracket in the country
