Default Insurance Findings

If you are looking for insurance renewals, this list I've made in the last coupe of days may help.

Some companies are not allowed to insure S2000's anymore, due to bad claims involving the cars.

If you have been in an accident (fault or otherwise) where someone was injured, some companies will turn you down for quotes.

I went down the insurance list from Jaeger and tried all the companies (just about). For me (30 years old, 18k/annum fully comp with business class 1, 1 x SP50, 3 x claims (one vandalism, one no-fault, one named driver split liability) in 5 years, car parked on a driveway:

NU Direct (direct, not through broker)
(3.5k)

A-Plan
(3.5k) with no intake

Greenlight
Do not insure S2000's anymore

Liverpool Victoria
No modifications allowed.
Cheapest quote
(2k)

First Alternative
You need 4 years NCB to get a quote.
(no quote)

Bell Direct
No modifications but a reasonable quote without any mods
(2200)

Adrian Flux
Said that their quotes were so expensive there was no point telling me what they were. Then put me through to a call centre who then put me through to another insurance company who were also expensive.
(unknown)

Keith Michaels
My current broker. Very friendly, reasonable quote, but its NU
(2kish)

Elephant
Want to put you on the 10 month accelerator, charging the same for the 10 month accelerator plan, as LV do for 12 months. Reasonable quote however, but no snorkel/intake allowed as it doesn't match anything on their list. I'm sure we could figure it out though by calling it a filter or something.
(2k for 10 months)

Admiral
They will do a credit check as part of the quote.
(2.5k)

Fresh
(3.5k)

Tesco
You need 2 years NCB to get a quote
(no quote)

Lifesure
Very friendly bloke, said the quotes were high, but he'd try and call me if he found anything.
(3.5k upwards)

MSM
Only insure kit cars or classic cars
(no quote)

Confused
Diamond were the only insurance company to quote
(3k)

Highway
(3k)

Dorset Insurance
Phone number on their web site doesn't work
(no quote)

Quinn
You are only allowed 1 fault claim
(no quote)

Post Office
(3.5k)

Tried A-Plan - they use local brokers and will shop around and come back to you. Might be worth a shot given your circumstances.

That's who I am with. With all my mods although I know they don't do mods for new customers. I have wheels, suspension, PRM and HKS exhaust plus 9 points for 900 quid. They are by far the cheapest quote I got .

They don't do it for exisiting customers anymore either Jamie. When it runs out you're on your own.

I also thought they only covered people with one set of points (i.e a single SP50)
