Try speaking to A-Plan. They may match Swiftcover or tell you where the catch is.

IIRC there are nasty clauses in either the Admiral Groups policies or Swiftcover policies that state that they are able to use reclaimed (read: second-hand) parts to repair your car after an accident...

IME, A-Plan have been consistently competitive while being likeable and informative.

The catch is that dealing with them in the event of a claim is a nightmare. That being said, i'm insured with NIG through lifesure, and NIG seem to be a bunch of muppets when it comes to dealing with claims too.

I found the difference between standard and modded is enourmous these days, even with no power gains
