Just renewed with Flux
£510, £350 excess, aged 41, reasonable post code. Up from £420 last year, but still my second lowest premium.
Nearest quote from anyone else was £600.

Just re-insured with Sky who we've been with for about 4 years now I think
Fully comp, 7 years no claims protected, 28 years old, i've got 3 points the mrs has a clean licence and is the policy holder as she uses the car every day.
Renewal came through at £707 for a standard car and went up by £200 with all mods declared (supercharger, wheels, exhaust etc)
Very very happy with the service from Sky. Had a claim for my R32 GTR which was a total loss and was dealt with swiftly, communication was great, got the amount we wanted for it and had the option of buying it back

Does garaging the car really make that much difference?
Does it mean that you've got to garage the car 100% of the time while the car is parked at home?
Reason why I ask is because I've heard of horror stories where cars are garaged 99% of the time but because the car was stolen off the drive (garaged blocked for example) the insurance company were unwilling to pay out...
I've just bought a house with a garage but I'm tempted to insure it for the drive as I can see something happening on the one occasion I leave it out.

Don't quote me on this, but I think my policy reads something like:
'For any claim for theft the vehicle must be parked inside a garage from the hours of 10pm to 6am when parked at the policy holders address'
So basically if I am parking at the home address the car must be parked in the garage at night for it to be covered for theft. If for example you are parked in town, at the girlfriends address, at a hotel carpark, etc and it is stolen at night then you are covered for the theft of the vehicle.

Adding my experience in the right place this time:
Sky Insurance (using Chaucer), 950+300 excess. 2006, 26yrs old, garaged, 4yr NCB, 20k miles a year + 1000 business.
Flux wouldnt give me any excess below 700 today.

Got an email from confused.com saying that I could insure my S2000 from as little as £2553
Just doing the quotes now as due 13 June and cheapest so far is £746.51 with motorinsurance.co.uk which is an increase of about £50. This is for business use, excess of £750 (which I will get amended), 1 AF for me, 2 AF for Mr CJ with 6 points.
If I can get it slightly lower than last year I'll be happy. Still waiting for Flux to send me renewal quote and disappointed that they said putting a tracker on wouldn't make a jot of difference to my quote!
