My renewal quote for Aviva Multicar has come through - Me + wife, 5+ NCB, both 38; S2000 (K&N FIPK), Golf V6 4motion (Air filter, uprated ARB + poly bushes) and Golf 1.8T standard - £1030 for the year.
It feels a little bit steep I'd have been happy with anything under £1000 so will give them a call. Their website is excellent - esp. with declaring the modifications and adding cars or drivers mid-policy. Much better than other companies that seem to add £130 to the premium for an air filter - then try explaining stiffer Anti Roll Bars to them ....

Just had a really good quote from Sky & thanks to Lee (Kitesurfer) for the info
Fully comp, me & the wife, protected NCB, £300 excess, limited to 6,000 per year with all mods declared, £580 squid.
Going to do a little more shopping around but given that Flux wanted nearly £700 without a full list of all my mods & just wanted to up the market value I feel more confident with the quote from Sky - at least they asked for my shopping list of goodies

Multi car renewal came through yesterday from Aviva; 09 S2K GT100 max NCB and 62 Merc C220 CDI AMG Sport max NCB, both in my name, 40 years old, no other drivers...£1840 including £314 multi car discount
Quick check on meerkats website gave quotes for the S2K of around £500 with Swift and Axa, although I wouldn't insure a wheelbarrow with them after the debacle of a claim and subsequent battle three years ago, with the next best quote of £758; and for the Merc the best quote was £512 with Halifax.
So I ring Aviva and point out that they aren't very competitive this year...and after a check of all the details which revelaed nothing had changed since last year, she said "Well..I can give you another small discount...your renewal quote now is £1216 for both cars"
£638 knocked off in one phone call, a reduction of a third!
So both cars insured for less than the combined best quotes for them insured separately (excluding anything to do with Axa), and less than I paid Aviva last year for a full year on the S2K and four months on the Merc including the 10 and 15 weeks free as a new customer.

Renewal letter came through from Sky at £877
Called Adrian Flux to get a quote and they came abck with £730
Price comparison sites + most of the ones list on this page came back well over £1K
On calling back Sky beat that with £700 (Markers Study)
Shows it pays to always shop around.

Just renewed my insurance. Swiftcover- £304 for 32yr old, 11yrs NCB (protected), no claims in last five years. Limited to 4000miles. Standard car.
Strangley to get a cheap quote I used my details from last year which included a personalized reg that I've now sold, as with my original plate back on the insurance premiums were a lot more expensive (around £100 more)- not sure why? Bought the policy with swift on the old reg details, and then just changed it online for free as soon as I'd bought the policy. Anyone else had this problem? Swiftcover couldn't explain why this was the case.

As always admiral have come up trumps for me. With multicar I pay £600 for the s2k (standard) plus integra dc2 (modified). That's for me and my gf, I'm 31 and she's 26 both with 3 years ncb. Seems fair to me
