Thanks for the responses. I tried the Quidco comparison site as well for fun (!) and that had Diamond coming in at £380 with £22 cashback (I was expecting it to be a bit higher through them).

I'm obviously not unhappy with the quote but can't believe that moving house has halved the amount

Insure mine at that rate whilst you're there would ya? :-)

Just proof read (and maybe get a second set of eyes to glance over) the facts and figures of the proposal, make sure everything is listed, covered and with a fair excess etc, then go!

I rang up Adrian Flux - suddenly they can reduce my £630 to £400. I will def be checking out the small print but I would have thought Diamond was a pretty good company to go with, only downside is the courtesy car only if you use approved garages.

Does anyone know what the difference between protected and guaranteed no claims is?

Try classicline, I got mine for 390 (30 with 11yrs no claims parked on street) compared to next best quote of 660 with Adrian flux. Also tried comparison sites and sky but none came close. Classicline is a classic policy limited to 7.5k miles, accrues no claims and includes roadside assistance. HTH

My renewal came in at £646, up from £475. I did have a fault claim last year. Went to the meerkat site, got a quote from Central for £340. Contacted my insurers, and they matched it. Central have bad feedback, otherwise I would have gone with them on principle. Not sure if Central's poor feedback/reputation is justified or not.

For info 2007, standard, 10,000 mile pa including business, Sussex, £450 excess, age 51

Just taken out a policy with Admiral at £354 (I added personal injury which may or may not be a waste of money at £30 but getting more paranoid now I'm contracting!). I'm hoping they are a fairly reputable company. They weren't the cheapest but the multicar policy was appealing as thinking about an addition at some point.

Service was fantastic.

Ecstatic with the price I just can't believe moving house has more than halved my quotes on the comparison sites

Now where's my free Meercat

Had my renewal through the door on my s2k. last year was £750 this year £1150
add that to my van £800 last year so im quessing that will go up as well when the time comes.

Ive had no claims for seven years, no convictions and im 27, thanks alot direct line multi-car.

Thought i'd go down the trade insurance route to see if i could save some pennies.

Got a quote from Tradeplan. WOW, Why didnt i try them years ago.

Fully comp on my VW Transporter Sportline (Main vehicle)
Fully comp on my S2000 (Secondary vehicle)
Fully comp on any other vehicle including high performance i.e Ferrari, porsches ect. (customers cars)
Third party on all vehicles driven in Europe.

Wait for it... £1190

Bargain if you ask me.

Plenty of insurance threads...have a search to find out more

In short, standby for a bumming whatever company it is.
