Welcome ""

Try all the usual places like Adrian Flux, Sky, A-Plan.

I am assuming that you have zero NCB by the fact you are saying it's your first car? How long have you been driving and do you have any experience of driving a powerful RWD car?

My guess is that will pay through the nose if you read some of the posts & prices within this thread.

Without wanting to tell you what to do I would make sure that you can get insurance before you buy an S otherwise you may find yourself stuck with a motor that you cannot afford to insure even for theft, 3rd party damage, etc, sat in your garage.

Let us know how you get on.

yes have ncb as its a first car , never driven a RWD before or an powerfull car let me drive yours ?

Il let you know how i get on

I'm guessing you've no chance of getting insurance on this car for the sort of premium you want. It's in a very high insurance group and lots of under 25s crash them.

Can you get a quote for something more regular for a 20-year old, like a 1.0 Corsa or something? That would at least give you a starting point to work from.

i got mine down from £886 to £740 with Adrian Flux, got a quote from http://www.lwib.co.uk for £750 and AF beat it by £10, annoying they could just lower the premium that much by me basically just asking, but pleased with the price now

Some interesting points from my renewal research today:

Direct Line were the cheapest last year when I had zero NCD. Now they are nearly double the cheapest quote with 5 years NCD. (How do you go from zeo to 5 years in a single calendar year - insure a car whilst still having a company car, or another car policy with NCD on it - you can't use NCD or claim free status on more than one policy simultaneously. End of lesson learned...!)

AXA are coming in the cheapest at around £400 - key advantages as well as the cost: employers business travel at no extra cost; and they only ask about accidents claims for the last 3 years. Go to AXA direct and not through pinko-subversive rodents or annoying tenors - its cheaper (just)

Most of the other usual suspects (Sky, Adrian Flux) are between £520 - £570. SAGA (yes that's right - lucky me) were tempting due to a low excess.

As usual watch out to compare like with like - comparison site are useful for this.

Finally many quote GT cars as cheaper to insure - so look out for where GTs are differentiated from roadsters. Note - my car is now GT spec, with all the Honda parts so that's what I'm insuring. You don't always have to use your reg mark to identify the model.

Just moved to Aviva, for 09 GT100, 12 years NCB (now that Swift have taken my claim for new locks/ignition off following theft of my keys from my house in 2010), 39 years old, BL1 Bolton postcode (not good, Sky said they wouldn't be able to compete): £989 (ok, includes 15 weeks free for new customers).

Got lower quotes off meerkats from companies I've never heard of, but having dealt with Swift learned the hard way that you get what you pay for, if you are unfortunate enough to need to claim, so am not prepared to use them.

Anyway, I'm happy with it.

And I'm free from Swift...

Yes, AXA in my case, see previous post. But they won't consider modified cars
