Sky is £951.95 (£846.18 if i didn't declare mods)
Going to give Keith Michaels a call tomorrow

Exhaust and filter going on the car this week, and as confused.com included a quote for both mods in the quick search I had a quick go at how much the mods will cost to insure on renewal, and very weirdly the top four insurers ( Admiral, Elephant, Bell and Diamond ) all reduce my premium by 2-3% ( £15 ).

Pleased as punch with my insurance this year. Previous years have been dropping gradually from around £550 down to about £400. Renewal £410 (Admiral). Yearly GoCompare / Compare the Market / Moneysupermarket trawl and I got £278 with £500 total XS.

Just insured my first S2K and went with Sky in the end, they matched my best quote of £550.00 and lowered the excesses.
29yrs, 5yrs ncb, 1 accident (non fault), no convictions, BS postcode, wife on policy, upto 6k mileage.
Happy with that to be fair

These figures mean nothing unless the excess is also given!
55 never ever had a claim, car garaged 6 months a year..ok some big horsepower but for Christ sake try giving somebody a break. My horsepower will be for speed trials, where it won't be insured anyway.but because I would also Like to use it on the road, it's a case of trousers down sir let us just take advantage of you sir. And a premium of around 30 p a mile... That sounds a right bargain, and you wonder why people don't declare different brake pads or air filter?
Example I insured my Areoplane for 10 years total cost £20.000... I sold it for £19,000 go figure.
I forgot to mention, 65% no claims +20 discount....erm that's 85% quote around £1200.Mmm let's just dissect this shall we? Car kept in an alarmed garage, not used for comuting, and still only used in summer. 65%on 3different vehicles so shouldnt that be 195% ?.Anyway let's not complicate things.
So 85% off premium £ 1200 with the discount... I can't work it out but let's just say £10.000 without any discount, for 5000 miles, As I mentioned 55 years never had a claim in 38 years on anything including home insurance. Iv had some very very powerful bikes, a few hot cars a powerful aeroplane. I drive around 100.000 miles a year for my job, and I get an insurance quote without a discount of around £2.00 a mile.... So you can see why I find it such a bargain.
If insurance wasn't compulsory you would get it free with a gallon of petrol.
Sorry for the rant but I just think they are greedy sanctimonious a**holes, who exploit car enthusiasts.... Because they can.

Try all the usual places like Adrian Flux, Sky, A-Plan.
I am assuming that you have zero NCB by the fact you are saying it's your first car? How long have you been driving and do you have any experience of driving a powerful RWD car?
My guess is that will pay through the nose if you read some of the posts & prices within this thread.
Without wanting to tell you what to do I would make sure that you can get insurance before you buy an S otherwise you may find yourself stuck with a motor that you cannot afford to insure even for theft, 3rd party damage, etc, sat in your garage.
Let us know how you get on.
