Just received a renewal from Churchill, £558 last year, this year, £1007.
Haven't had any claims, this is ludicrous!
Tried confused.com but the lowest quote is over £900, what the hell is going on?

Well, I'm flabbergasted at the figures given by Chris Knott and Sky Insurance... in excess of £2,000 for an S2000 in our postcode WN5.
I'm 39, wife 29 (i'm aware that's a factor as she's under 30)... i have 8 years no claims, she has 9 years no claims. No claims and No points for both of us.
I've owned an S for 2 years, some time ago, but still run a 200hp saloon car now at £550 a year with her insured on it too. Never had any accidents, neither of us EVER! So we are sweet to insure. What on earth is going on in the Insurance industry? Appreciating the car is group 20, im asking for quotes on an 02 plate GT (better if not safer handling in poor conditions, perhaps less stealable with the hardtop through winter too). Car will be garaged, 10,000 miles a year and the usual S,D,P and commuting use.
I'm struggling to understand why we are so un-insurable looks like the supermarket sites are the best quotes, £1,000

The low quote is from them. My insurance is with them at the moment so think I might as well stick with them, although they said that was with a £400 excess which is a bit high I thought

Incidentally, what kind of mileage are you guys adding here... my quotes are for 10k miles a year

Cheaper to insure an M5 at the moment lol....
Just off the phone from Adrain Flux... £1678!!!! this is for 9,000 miles a year not 10,000. Goodness me, where do we go from here?! (quoted for a 2002 GT)

29, about to turn 30 (I did some quotes as though I was 30 to see if it was worth waiting a few months before buying the car and the premium didn't change a penny)
Zero NCB as I haven't driven for four years as I'm living in central london and my NCB expired grr
I have declared mods of air filter, lowering and exhaust, 5000 miles a year and it came to a touch over £1000 fully comp!
I thought I had no chance of a nice car after finding my NCB had expired, I didn't realise it did that.
Car is insured in the countryside though at my parents as it is a weekend toy. To insure it in London they wanted a £3000 excess on a standard car or a premium of £4500 with the above mods!
I went with Elephant as the specialist firms wouldn't touch me.
Very happy.

Will the car always reside at your parents address (ie never at your London address)?
