Default Insurance company worth trying is...

there have been lots of hiked insurance quotes mentioned recently on here. My A-Plan had actually gone down slightly but was still £560. After negotiations I got it down a further £100, though I had to put my wife on the policy as a named driver (yeah, fat chance).

I phoned around and amazingly my best quote was for with SAGA. Oh the embarrassment of a patronising phone salesman saying I sounded much younger!

£250 excess
wife included
unlimited Europe cover
windscreen replacement excess £75

and the premium?

£375 including the £25 Legal expense bit

the downside? none really except you have to be >30 (I think) and I had to go through the process of being quoted for house insurance (10 minutes).

Down side for me is, you have to be over 50...... not 30.

I know it says 50 on the website, but my insurance quote simply said not less than 30.

Worth a try I would think. Have you filled in the online form?
