As far an insight from an insurer goes.. and you may want to sit down.

It is a high risk car
At 20 year old you are a high risk driver
You have no experience of driving in the UK

I'll be blunt and say, it sounds like an accident waiting to happen. I think you will really struggle to find cover from a UK insurer, if you do, the price will reflect the risk.

As this guy says,you're better off to sort in on base when you get here. You've got fuel on base at half the price of UK fuel so no worries there either.

Drop me a PM when you're over and I'll introduce you to the local meet scene. There's a couple of big clubs around the area with a lot of USAF personel involved and we meet up once a week on a Wednesday about 10 miles from base.
