It depends what you call "stupid". I was going to be paying £780 with swift cover. Got another car aswell (BMW E46 316iSE) and am now on an admiral multicar policy. For both cars, full comp with protected NCB on the S2K it's come in at £963. It's still very expensive for the S2K but for the two I think quite reasonable.

Try some of these: http://www.s2kuk.com/s2kuk/Benefits/...ers.php?cat=12 This question gets asked pretty much every week nowadays and the only real answer is to shop around.

There is no getting away from the fact that insuring an S2000 is expensive.

Just been quoted £280 through A plan, fully comp, all mods declared and max no claims.

Oh the joys of living in the IOM and getting older

This is the part of insurance that confuses me

If you have 2 cars, one driver, why doesn't it cost you the price of the highest risk car? In your case £780. You can't drive both cars at once so when you're driving the lowest risk car the insurance company are quids in and they're covered when you're driving the higher risk car.

Insurance and logic

Both could be stolen I suppose though.

If your young brentacre are v.good for me.

23,6 points, 4yrs ncb, decent postcode. 1100 all mods declared FC.

Different insurers will suit different situations which is why like said above shopping around is best. Brentacre added nothing for my points but I can imagin other insurers would.

Where abouts in North Wales are you and I am assuming that you are not 21 with a 2009 S?

I pay £400 FC with protected NCB with Adrian Flux, car is garaged & we have a Chester post code - not really sure how much that helps!!

Best quote I could get was through A plan at around £700, I'm 31 with 10 years no claims
