Insurance

Totally. However, imagine if an employer adopted the same attitude about certain types of people. Even if they had all the data in the world proving that this 'type' of person took the most time off or had the biggest risk they'd still get prosecuted.

The joys of being old, hey Pete
Well that, and I would imagine protected NCB too

I've done some thinking about this - and the only good thing about being younger was that I had (potentially) longer to live, everything else being equal
I don't look forward to the decrepitude (who does?) but that seems a way off yet
No protected NCB - which is something I see as a bit of a con, as it doesn't prevent them jacking up the base premium
Just owned so many cars at the same time that it was easy to move cover between different insurers
Better still, the premium should go down shortly, once the 'sports exhaust' as they call it is removed
On the wider point, Moggy has it right
The figures don't lie and most would admit we are a bit mad in our younger years
So the high premiums make complete sense to me
Don't forget, like all of the 'older' posters here, I paid high premiums myself once
