He also stated anyone who knows about cars will no what it is, and anyone who doesn't won't care. Some reasonable food for thought there
Hang on is that a plod spouting common sense?

Reminds me of Lee Evens, he bought a personalised plate, all he needs to do now is change his name to M407 JKD.
It's probably cheaper to have your name legally changed than paying the minimum £250 to DVLA to change your plate

It's only wrong if you get caught. I did. And I'll pay up.
That's what Rolf Harris said.

So I am in the process of making the car's plates legal again and whilst at it, decided to add the GB / European Logo also for some travel next year. The simple question is, can I have anything other than 520mm x 111mm legally on the front? I can't find any 'legal' sites that offer smaller plates, other than import styles, which I assume are restricted for imports.

This is annoying for two reasons; I've removed the black plastic plate holder and will have to remove the bumper again to put it back on, and I think standard size on the front looks crappy since having a smaller plate on the front.

Worst still, I've now become obsessed with eye-balling everyone's plates and it's quite amazing how many people will be getting 'done' shortly.

This is a good guide: http://www.newreg.co.uk/services/dvl...ic_plate_rules

As the number height has to be 79mm, plus a margin of 11mm top and bottom, the minimum size would be 101mm

Will a car fail an MOT for incorrectly spaced plates? (everything else OK)
