Instant Karma - fined for number plate
#31
I think in truth reducing the lettering size kinda makes the car look younger, gives it bit of attitude - and shows you're a rebel! I've never liked the square-ish plate on the front right bumper, it looks odd. A Shane they've jumped on the sizing.
You know, the losers in all this will be likes of Newreg.co.uk, DVLA reg plates and all the rest of the sellers of these vanity plates. They have been tempting buyers (they'd never admit it) to break the law with plates that look like names or whatever relevant to the buyer. The actual cost of vanity varies but I've always found it intriguing to why people pay so much. Now it seems, alot of plates could now be worth f&ck all whereas the lettering movement previously made them worth alot of cash. Karma it seems for the market, how would one feel to lose money on your plate?

Mine was s200 TOE, so I was unaffected. And it was only £250.
For me, I had an unattractive reg plate. it was FD02 FOK - meet the Focker lol, therefore I had to replace it with the above

Mine is S20 ODP which I illegally changed to S20OD P. Quite a fair point the Copper made when he pointed out two wing badges and a wind deflector logo stating S2000. He was bemused why I wanted it stated on the reg too.
He also stated anyone who knows about cars will no what it is, and anyone who doesn't won't care. Some reasonable food for thought there

My bug bare is this...
The government sell cherished plates, which often to bare meaning and have their corresponding value have to have non standard spacing.
The government the fine you for falling for their cherished plate scheme.
I too read the Police and VOSA were relaxing the enforcement of correct spacing due to this catch 22 a few years ago on BBC news.
Dodgy fonts and strategically placed nuts I'm not a fan of, however.

Reminds me of Lee Evens, he bought a personalised plate, all he needs to do now is change his name to M407 JKD.

My car had S200 HVT (S2000 Honda V-Tec as he 'explained' it to me) and the previous owner wanted a grand for it, I laughed and declined.
I have 2 plates which are just 1 digit different which have my initials and no illegal spacing or small number plates.
