Default Instant Idiot Help - Reversed Battery

I type with this with even my dog looking at me like I am an idiot - i hate it when he's right.

My 00 S2000 has been stored during the snow and i took the battery off to put on a trickle charger.

I reconnected today while talking away to someone - as i connected the second lead there was a spark and a sound of activity from the engine bay - i had unbelieveably connected the leads the wrong way round and now - nothing .

Could it be as simple as a fuse - or worse? Any starting points on where to start - much appreciated.

It'll depend on how long they coupled I reckon, we once coupled the booster pack back to front on the forecourt and tried to start a Corsa, 1/2 loom and ecu required.
Is there a "fusable link"* in the Honda loom? this should blow if someone makes a boo boo.

* Giant fuse in main power line.

There is - check the fuses in the underbonnet fuse box & the thing in front of it.

However, if it didn't fuse in time, set fire to car & gooogle 'GT86' or something.

Yes; someone did it to one of my X-1/9s before I owned it; that deleted the alt., radio & fried part of the loom.

But them were the ol' days before cars had FREDs with silly little diodes all over the place, many of which have a constant live.

From memory I think it's fused with a 60A under the bonnet although I could be wrong...

Problem is, the fuse is suddenly at the return side, so all those dainty diodes can get the full 60A up their arses before it gets back to the fuse.
