Installing BQuiet Ultimate In The Doors
Recently purchased 12sq ft of this to try and alleviate the vibration/resonating from my Kenwood speakers in both doors.
So how exactly do I install it? Do I just stick it on as many flat pieces under the door card as I can? Do I put it both on the inside of the door card, and the door? What about the irritating white plastic sheet that covers the internals of the door?
Anyone got any pics of theirs?
Thanks!

Keep the white plastic.
Focus the material aroud the speaker and within the door skin behind the speaker (if you can reach). I didn't do the door cards as they will not resonate in the same way as sheet metal.

Overall you should notice a significant difference Phil, not only in terms of eliminating vibration, but a much improved depth to the sound. In terms of bang for the buck it's one of the best things you can do IMHO.
Cheers,

So you removed the speaker, reached in through the hole and laid it all in there? Did you lay against the outer layer of the door (i.e. the metal with the paint on the other side) or the inner layer (faces the door card) or both?
Sorry for all the questions..........am expecting someone to tell me exactly where to stick it shortly.......and that aint happening as 12 sq ft is quite a large roll!! This emoticon is a good representation of what might happen.....

Waiting with baited breath! I'm actually loitering on this thread, as I'm about to do the same, so the info is doubly appreciated!

I found it easier to pop the door trim off rather than going in through the speaker port. Gives you much better access - be careful not to break the plastic retaining clips though. I had stacks of material so i did both but i would suggest that right behind the speaker is where you want the best accoustic insulation.
EDIT: you don't need to take the whole trim off, two or three clips along the bottom and side should suffice!

On the US forum somebody posted a step by step ICE install which included sound deadening the doors with piccies.
I've done the same with mine, but I removed the white plastic and all the gunk. I cut a piece of Dynamat extreme to cover the full door cutting out holes for the speakers and door handles. It took a while to do but well worth it.
The doors now sound solid and the speakers sound
