That D-section bit of steel replaces a flimsy Honda U-section.

It's unbelievable what a difference that can make.

Give your money to Chris, & don't argue!

I've got Cusco upper and lower rear braces and a Spoon front lower multi-point brace. All of this is with Coilovers and even though the front upper is "missing" it does handle superbly well. I spoke to Tokyo Express about handling and he said that ARB's are pretty much a must as the oem ones are quite soft. General consensus ??
The front upper is on the way from J's so it will link in with my ETD.

I would be careful before fitting stiffer ARBs. I re-fitted the rear Tanabe rear ARB on my car a week or two ago and, whilst the car was better on track, the back end was noticably more harsh. However, I tweaked the rebound and compression on the car on the weekend and there is a noticable improvement. You don't have that ability with the stock suspension (although, as Nick says, the OEM suspension is on the soft side in the first place).

I think mine's great with the ARBs, but what Nick says is totally correct: you do get some unpleasent side effects over bumps and generally the ride is worse.

Also remember Honda changed the ARB stiffness at least 3 times. The change on a MY99 like mine will be less than the change on a MY04.

I also have to say I'm glad I have the adjustable droplinks, without that the two ARBs would have made the car a bit of a handful. No wonder people say to just replace the front. I think just slapping on two stiffer ARBs onto a standard ish car would be a mistake, and possibly a costly one when you put it backwards into a hedge.

These things all complement each other. You need the braces, the ARBs, the adjustable droplinks, the coilovers, the anti-bumpsteer kit, AND the geo doing properly. Then you're getting there and your only problem is the tyres and the idiot who's controlling it all.

But bang for buck, I'd say do the rear lower brace.

Speak to Chris Franklin, he's not on the south coast but he's worth the drive, he's very highly thought of amongst people on here
