Nigel, are your overall thoughts positive on the changes or not
example: the interior door handles which have been changed from black plastic to a light silvery finish, are painted, in the bumph Honda said " with chrome accents" well there not chrome! they would have looked so much better and richer if they had been proper metaled chrome, as they are, they look dull and cheap and now will be prone to being marked if you catch them lets say, with a ring, or wear through back to the black colour underneath with constant useage.
Wheels, rougher castings, sure there painted so they will not oxidise, but as you know, the now deeper impressions will just gather brake dust in them which will be even harder to wash out, the polished facings look good, shame there offset by the rougher castings, there are other things, thats just two examples.
So as you see its difficult to go one way or the other.
With time and money you can make anything the way you want it though.

As a prospective 2002 owner think I am more interested in whether they have sorted the apparent drive train problems - the tarty bits that worry me (like the silver gaiter) I can sort myself - at fairly minimal cost. Not too interested in the CD/MD bit - have too many CDs and no - how cd this be? - MDs.

There will always be bits on the car that people will want to change. No car is right for everyone that's why we buy so many, always looking for the next best thing.
With regards to not be able to put CD's in the player when in 1st, 3rd, 5th.....why is that a problem....when would you try and put a cd in / take a cd out when in first - standing still (put the car in neutral to change CD!!) or accelerating (eyes on road and not CD player!!) third is a gear that you shift through either accelerating or decelerating and I don't usually drive for too long in 3rd. Fifth, again, is a gear (in the S2000) that is shifted through...although I should imagine that you can drive for periods in 5th. I would have though, being safe drivers that you all are, cd operation will accelerating or decelerating is a no-go.
I am dissapointed that the "chrome accents" are not chrome - sounds like a cop-out, but then again, not much bother....I'm sure some clever fellow will have some on the market quick-smart. I'll need to see the wheels to form my opinion as I never noticed the rough surfaces on the 2001 model.
When I first joined the site I could not believe how many people were making changes to their cars (2001's etc)....there must be no orginal cars left!! This just goes to show that people are never satisfied.
I hope that most of the new features are improvements (even if the improvement is minor) the biggest worry would be if Honda had down-graded components or done something really nasty....sounds like they haven't so I'm happy (well I would be if I had my flippin' car!!)
Thanks for the rant...feel better for that!!
ps I bought the car because I liked the one that I test drove (and nothing had been done to that and it probably hasn't been looked after as well as all the cars I read about here) - as long as mine's like that I'm happy.

Just had a look at my car!
I does look very very fine!.
One thing to add..... I noticed that the plastic around the HID's is now chromed and not black...
Back window looks great and I think that it's a little smaller but oh-so clear
The Honda guy said that slight changes had been made to the rear suspension to help traction?? Any body heard about this?
Get the car on Wednesday AM.
