Default Injen HydroShield

Hello Again,

I have been searching the forum reseaching into debatable Hydrolock issue. I notice that 95% of people have had not issues with this so long as the drain hoel is sealed up to prevent water from draining onto the CAI when the car is stationary. There are however a very small minority of owners who have experienced water in the CAI pipe.

For this reason I have decided to purchase an Injen HydroShield. I notice there are 3 different sizes available. Do any of you know which size fits the AEMv2? I have tried looking up the AEM website but cannot find the specifications for the filter size. The Injen Hydroshield come in the following sizes:

Small:
5"-6" Base
5" Tall
4" Top
Injen Filters: X-1010, X-1011, X-1017, X-1020

Medium:
6" Base
5" Tall
5" Top
Injen Filters: X-1012, X-1013, X-1014

Large:
6.75" Base
5" Tall
5" Top
Injen Filters: X-1015, X-1018

Extra Large:
6.5" Base
8" Tall
5.5" Top
Injen Filters: X-1022

I am assuming it is the medium one as this fits the Injen S2000 intake (X-1014-BR). This is of course if the Injen CAI cone is the same size as the AEM V2 cone

You can get an AEM one specifically for the V2. Amber Performance sell it

They offer discounts to S2KUK Members

The AEM version is the AEM Bypass Valve is it not?
http://www.amber-performance.co.uk/info.php?i=485

These aparently reduce the airflow through the CAI or do AEM make a similar shield that goes over the filter?

These will reduce the performance of your car without doubt.

I can understand your paranoia but, and I speak from experience, you really will have to drive through a stream to hydrolock your car.

Oh, I agree you won't notice, but it is there as you are restricting the flow of air, thus VE is less.

Simple physics

From what little performance you will gain.

You wont hydrolock the car unless the filter is submerged in water, and yes it has been done.
