I am starting a new, hopefully exclusive club - The 4 engine club (my car is awaiting the delivery of what will be its fourth engine after 22,500 miles). I am interested to hear from any one else in any of the predecessor clubs (2/3 engine clubs) have had any recent contact with Phil Dix of HUK? a PM would be fine.

Cheers

Wow that is terrible. What is going wrong with these and why didn't Honda see this coming?

Since the death of my 09 S I haven't kept in contact with Phil Dix. Have you tried ringing him?

I spoke with Phil last Friday after emailing him earlier in the week. The message was an encouraging, positive one although details are yet to be released. I am interested to know who else will have had any contact and what message they took from it.

Elijah - don't know your circumstances but if you are in anything like a similar position to me, I think Phil may be in touch with you too.

Thanks - hope it's positive.

I've had two replacement engines so far, and am left still somewhat nervous about the longevity of these engines, worried about resale, and generally feels let down by Honda.
I bought my own 3 year warranty extension - which I resent having had to pay for, given my experience. My car is now four years old, with 2 years of warranty left - who's to say the third engine won't fail in a couple of years time, outside my extended warranty.

It probably will. I just wouldn't feel comfortable driving an s2000 manufactured past 07. Lots of problems with VSA boxes failing, the quality of the leather on the seats is inferior and if course this engine issue. Re-sale value is already affected, speak to any savvy car dealer and they'll know about the engine issue.

I feel very sorry for anybody that has an 08/09 car as it must play in the back if your mind all the time, and Honda are no use whatsoever regarding this issue.

I've extended the warranty on mine and as far as I know I can after 3 years extend it again at the end of that, keeps me reassured that if something does happen I'm covered.
