They're clearly struggling to find anything wrong.

Although that comment about No.1 makes no sense to me; it's adjacent to the oil pump & No 4 is the 'last', which was why it tended to overheat before the oil jet recall. Athough my No.1 picked up & threw a rod...

...unless it's the gsllery to the upstairs that causes a loss of pressure for a few seconds until the cams are full?

I'm one of those who's had two failures, same symptom (although caught the second VERY early based on listening to the engine carefully) - so my second is out there in a very early failed state - I'd hope they've been looking at it.

Re. oil - does sound very unlikely, given that there are a number of us with multiple failures, and hence dealer-fit oil......

There have been plenty of failed or failing engines

I would have thought it would be common sense to examine these units in detail rather than hooking up 2 engines to a dyno in Japan in the hope that they will fail

Sounds like to me

Running a couple of current engines will give them 'base line' wear characteristics, if not an actual failure. Something to compare.

Cold water flushing may be an attempt to imitate British winter conditions in the extreme.

As above Chris - in fact I have just got round to emailing Phil at Honda today for an update.

As and when I hear more I will update, as I am sure will Kiteland. We are both in dialogue with HUK

If they do extended warrentys then I want a refund! You might say mine isn't an 08 model but ...

Role on mid Nov when Honda get to hear mine in all its clattering glory. I do hope they send down the chaps from HUK as I've been told they will.

Clatter clatter, clatter clatter.
