Might have been positive for you, you didn't leave in a sh1tty brown 1.4 Civic
I'll echo what Pete has said with regards to the meeting. It was positive and I feel more positive that HUK are actually doing something and whilst my previous dealer experience hasn't been great, they are listening to us and I believe that this matter will get resolved.
I hope the General Manager of my dealers is in next week because I have just got the best demo car in the world ever and will be driving it behind Mr CJ in the brown Civic when I go to collect my S
Have I told you how much I love Audi's

Bronze!!!! I've checked under the bonnet and there is an engine in there
Actually it's a nice car, just have to remember the pick up isn't as quick as the S and now I've moved the steering wheel, I can actually see what speed I'm doing

Ian, thanks.
From the information posted on the forum the engine failures are as follows (all cars are 09 registered apart from Elijah and the car at Lightcliffe Honda, Southport which are 08 registered)
1) Gaspode F20C2 1090153
2) Bokkie F20C2 1080571, F20C2 0109009
3) S2KStar F20C2 1080786, F20C2 0109067
4) Longpig F20C2 1080828, F20C2 0109052
5) Elijah F20C2 1080681, F20C2 0108020
6) Neil Engine replacement at Listers Honda Solihull May 2011
7) - Engine replacement at Marshall Honda York June 2011 (confirmed by Kiteland)
8)- Engine replacement at Lightcliffe Honda Southport June 2011 (confirmed by s2kNut; engine number to be advised)
TOTAL NO; OF ENGINE FAILURES FROM FORUM POSTINGS = 12
Bristol Honda have confirmed to me via telephone that they have performed engine replacements on 5 09 S2000's, although some may be duplicated above.
I'll PM you with details of more failures as they have not appeared on the forum after confirming this is OK with the owners
Does the information compiled by the club add to the number of replacement engines ?
Thanks.

Interesting that all but one of the above cars are 09 registered with the earliest engine no being 1080571 - I wonder if there is a certain engine number cut-off before which MY08 (if not MY09) engines do NOT have the dreaded issues??
Not unreasonably assuming that 80-90% of MY08/09 UK cars are so far unaffected and many at >30K miles too...... I wonder why some engines fail but most don't?? Surely whatever offending parts are involved were fitted to all MY08/09 engines??
Is there a typical number of miles at which a MY08/09 engine will fail?? Like if an engine's going to fail, it will have either done so by 15K miles and, if it hasn't by then, it will be fine??
Has anyone looked at VINs as well as engine numbers to try and ascertain if the engine failures are cars made at one Honda facility/plant or another or evenly across both??
Does anyone here know exactly when the Rev5 (5 spoke wheels as standard) became available here in the UK?? I'm guessing Spring 2008, but am not at all sure.

@98RON: Mike, I read a lot of myself in your post, you are a data/analytical sort of guy. But if you read the recent postings above, especially Kiteland's, you must see that Honda are now clearly on the case *and* in the best postition to analyze the issues. This transparency hasn't always been the case. So mate I would watch and wait. Your urge to analyze is perfectly normal and understandable but who has all the data, is Honda. They are on it. But it might take a while like all forensics. Patience (= "do as I say not as I do"!)

Agree - patience is still needed unfortunately.
There should be logic to this, but not enough information just yet to find the answer.
There are so many factors which could be at work here, not least that suppliers/processes could have changed - so in theory the parts are the same, but maybe not. Even if there were a supplier change, it would then depend on how good the FIFO was (first-in-first-out) for the parts, and hence whether there's a randomness to the failures, or a clear cutover.
On top of that, someone told me that they number the engine when they're put in - but I'm really not convinced on that one, as being a Japanese manufacturer I'd credit them with some form of incremental identification, and usually good FIFO control too...
We watch and wait still....
