That means apart from the top end, the whole of the engine and transmission will have been changed.

Hopefully will collect the car tomorrow to use for the weekend, then back to the dealers for the engine work later.

I only took it in for a service!!!
See I got slated earlier in this topic for suggesting that owners should stop panicking as Honda would sort it out. So take it back you doubters! Honda didn't get a reputation for being the best engine builders in the world by letting things like this go without resolve.

All faulty 09 engines/gearboxes will be remedied rest assured so stop worrying and enjoy!

All well and good until it goes wrong again. It's ok replacing parts but if you are replacing them with faulty parts you just end up getting to know the service manager very well and if you've read this thread, you'll know that people have had numerous repairs and the vehicle has got the same fault months/miles later.

Good point, I have a list of bits that they need to change/check if they are changing the bottom end - I will add this to the list.

That's the frustrating thing; if your car is perfect now, it may probably never need the warranty.

I'd extend it anyway, IIWY!

I regret to inform you that as of today I have noticed my car is also making a horrible noise between 2-2.4 thousand revs. I will take it into Honda next week and see.

Mine is an 08 plate by the way, 13k miles on the clock.

Gutted.

Thanks Pete, luckily one of my colleagues at work liked my S so much he bought one (02) so if Honda can't hear it I can trundle both of ours along and have them realise they sound somewhat different!
