I have an 09 just hit 10k miles and so far no noises(touches wood) and I drive it like a hire car.

I suppose it's safer to go for an 06-07, quite like the pearl white one on autotrader in Aylesbury Honda....

I'm not in a mega rush , quite enjoying the grunt of the Mazda6 MPS turbo at present, but missing the NA sound not to mention the handling of the S2000.....

What I am not enjoying is the fecking £400+ road tax price but I guess unless i want another 04,05 or early 06 I am gonna have to lump it.

I'm back at Marshalls in September for further works and they are absolutely 100% positive that they will sort the problem, not just on mine but a couple of others they are dealing with.

Once this car is 100% sorted and I feel confident that all the noises have disappeared and depending on something else we have in the pipeline, then make me an offer.

And you are right - the red leather is crap. I'll be having mine replaced for a second time prior to the warranty expiring!

Can't understand why you don't just get HondaUK to fork out for a set of Clazzio covers, they're superior to the OEM stuff in EVERY way and when you sell the car, sell the covers separately and have your original seats unmarked and pristine

I will be in discussion with Honda about what they replace them with considering the current ones which are less than a year old are obviously pants!

I'm from US so might not he same, but I have 08 I bought brand new. Replaced my tct at around 30k sounded like valves tapping(put a trading card in a bicycle rim(that noise)). But I also replaced my cat at about 15k it sounded like it was blowing apart from inside out and it did which actually messed up my 02 sensor. My 2 cents.

That's interesting. Do you have any recordings?

Sorry I do not. The cat noise reminded me of what you guys thought was heatshield noise. If you took your cat out or even put car on lift and shake you exhaust you'll probably hear chunks of honeycomb rattling. Makes car sound like piece of sh*t big time, so sad. Oh yeah best part Honda told me piss off basically because my car is lowered so I may have hit something. When I replaced my cat there was no visible signs of damage to it but when you put up end to end I had about 2 tablespoons worth of debris and honeycomb fall out.

UPDATE

Honda have tested the car again for the 'engine noise', compared it against another S2000 and have agreed to replace the bottom end of the engine!

That means apart from the top end, the whole of the engine and transmission will have been changed.

Hopefully will collect the car tomorrow to use for the weekend, then back to the dealers for the engine work later.

I only took it in for a service!!!

Presumably you have an F22C rather than an F20C though?
