Information for 09 owners
#261
I am a new member on the forum but was about to buy an 09 S2000, but having read these issues, I have now pulled out, as Honda dealer and Honda UK refused to give any assurances about the car I was buying!
Do they not realise this will cause people to desert their product unless they get a grip of this situation, which is turning into a crisis!
I certainly won't risk my money on a product that it's manufacturer won't support with a credible warranty.
I am disappointed and dismayed to read all this...
Great forum though, and thanks for all the info.

It does not appear to be an issue with the thrustwashers themselves anyway. This "fix" did not work on the forum members cars posted about on here.

I thought it was the extra dry load at startup that depressing the clutch placed on them which can contribute to the problem.

Do you have to pick an argument with everything ?
Not in the same way as bearings which are shaped to be load bearing. Thrust washers cannot take much load (in comparison)
If you want to argue then start another thread in car talk to save spamming this one
Edit; fester, that is aimed at lower, not you

I was told to put the clutch in remove any gearbox drag on the starter motor, probably not so important now with better electronics?
