But it's primer ;-)

I won't be sticking it straight on the market but at the moment the shine has gone off it. It might come back, but I don't think so at this point in time. My contact at Honda UK says it's disappointing to see how much I've gone off my car, having raved about the S2K's to him for the past 5 years.

Indeed - I know how you feel.

We had also been looking at a new car for Jax she wont even consider a Honda now.

Just been out with my mechanic and he thinks I've got a transmission problem. There is a definite whine (no jokes please ) when you put it under load. Getting it on the ramps on Tuesday next week to listen for the rest of the noises. There is also a 'squeak' like two things rubbing together - any ideas? It's when you go over any rough bit of road, pothole, manhole cover - like a squeak spring bed.

Squeak might be the spare tyre not screwed down properly.

My car makes all sorts of noises, just turn the stereo up.

That's a good point - when it was in last time and they replaced the back box, they commented that the spare wheel wasn't secured properly so maybe it's come loose again.

I have to agree re; the noises, it's gives the car "character"

The diff and gearbox are quieter on my 09 compared to my 54 plate, it's the other noises that concern me

ps they won't just have changed your back box, it will have been the full exhaust system from the cat (comes as a complete exhaust from Honda)

I have a squeak sorted by shin e'tsu grease on seal above driver head.

We can do a compare next weekend if you want CJ?

Ok Rebecca - this is definitely outside cockpit noise.

Just managed to find a stretch of smooth tarmac and heard both noises very clearly - grating and whining. Going to see if I can record them for here.
